Dr.
Bernard Katz, M.D., MBA
Dr. Katz is Co-CEO of Santa Monica Bay Physicians Health Services,
Inc., a multi-specialty physician group based in Santa Monica,
California. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1987.
Dr. Katz is Board Certified in both Family Practice and Geriatrics
and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr.
Katz offers a unique combination of medical expertise and healthcare
business acumen.
Dr.
Mark Needham, M.D., MBA
Dr. Needham received his undergraduate degree in Communications
from Stanford University in 1977. He graduated from Case Western
Reserve University Medical School with honors in 1981. Dr. Needham
received a Masters in Business Administration from UCLA's Anderson
School of Business in 1999 and currently is co-CEO of Santa Monica
Bay Physicians Health Services, a medical management company that
supports his medical group, two independent practice associations,
and a number of independent practices.
Kathleen
Spiekerman, MBA
Mrs. Spiekerman is the owner of Omega Results in Dallas, Texas.
Omega Results is a healthcare consulting firm specializing in
operational and reimbursement issues, due diligence for mergers
and acquisitions, and staffing and productivity assessments. Mrs.
Spiekerman has 20 years of experience in healthcare business operation
and management, including managing companies providing sleep diagnostic
services and equipment. Mrs. Spiekerman is a member of the American
Association for Respiratory Care, the National Sleep Foundation,
the Association of Professional Sleep Societies and the National
Billing Society. Mrs. Spiekerman provides expertise with regard
to sleep diagnostics programs and reimbursement and billing issues.
Josh
Reynolds
Mr. Reynolds has over 20 years of experience developing new products
in the fields of biofeedback, psycho-physiology, molecular electronics,
and air ionization. He is the founder and developer of the Cognitive
Care System, ThinkFast, CogFit, and several other memory and cognitive
screening and enhancement programs. He is a frequent guest on
radio talk shows and is currently authoring a book on memory and
cognitive performance. Mr. Reynolds has helped American Sleep
& Wellness develop programs and screening tools for the assessment,
management, and treatment of mild cognitive impairment.
Lori
Grover, MAS
Mrs. Grover is a registered dietician with a master's degree in
administrative science. She has held many positions in the field
of nutrition, including Director of Marketing and Product Development
for Neighborcare Genesis, a large healthcare provider. As an expert
in the field, she has also developed and presented numerous clinical
programs on nutrition. Mrs. Grover consults with American Sleep
& Wellness about the diet and nutritional aspects of our programs.
Thomas
N. Bulleit, Jr., J.D.
Mr. Bulleit is a partner in Hogan & Hartson's Healthcare Group
and a member of the American Health Lawyer's Association. He has
represented a wide range of providers of health care products
and services, including hospitals, hospices, and providers of
physical therapy and home health care. He has also published a
book about the effect of the Medicare Anti-kickback Law on the
sale of drugs and medical devices. Mr. Bulleit reviews our compliance
with all federal and state regulations relative to each center.
Todd
Smith
Mr. Smith has a fourteen-year track record of success with health
care, financial services and technology ventures. Mr. Smith has
significant financial and operational know-how, acquisition expertise,
in addition to experience raising capital in the private equity
and debt markets. He was CEO of a medical diagnostics start-up
company, and has served as the COO for one of the nation's largest
imaging diagnostics firm. Mr. Smith supports American Sleep &
Wellness with regard to its wellness imaging activities.
Melissa
Johnson, MS
Ms. Johnson has a fifteen-year business development and operational
history in the corporate health and wellness industry. She was
recently director of business development for an e-health technology
company, emphasizing peak performance within the corporate, amateur
and professional sports arena. She is the executive director of
the California State Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and
Sports and served as vice-president of the National Association
of Health and Fitness in Washington D.C. Ms. Johnson provides
expertise in the area of exercise physiology and fitness.
Larry
Cates
Mr. Cates is President and CEO of Global Learning Systems and
KeyStone Learning Systems Corp. Mr. Cates has an extensive background
in investment strategies, partnership strategies and has built
both public and private companies through organic growth and strategic
acquisitions. Mr. Cates has assisted American Sleep & Wellness
in a variety of business matters relative to finance, marketing
and training at American Sleep & Wellness centers.
